How can digital tools enable young people’s activism and civic engagement? And how can we handle the risks and challenges these tools may create? 

Come and join our event the 6th of October to explore this and meet a variety of youth organizations and activists from Denmark and the Global South. The event will also host the first launch in Denmark of ShiftBrain, Save the Children’s new AI-driven tool for youth activism. 

The event is a part of Digital Democracy Days, a four-day forum focused on digitalization, democracy, and human rights launched by The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Organised in partnership with civil society organisations, the forum aims to foster cross-sector dialogue and strengthen collaboration around the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation. 

As part of this engagement, Save the Children Denmark (SCD), Save the Children Denmark Youth, Disabled People’s Organisations Denmark (DPOD), and the Danish Association of Youth with Disabilities (SUMH) will host a hybrid event on young people’s activism and civic engagement in the digital age. 

Drawing on perspectives from young activists and youth networks from Denmark and the Global South, the discussion will highlight participation in fragile and crisis-affected contexts. It will also focus on the meaningful engagement of young people living with disabilities.
